The European Banking Authority has published an updated list of institutions with a reporting obligation for the 2025 EU supervisory benchmarking exercise. The 2025 exercise will cover a sample of 110 institutions from 16 countries across the European Union and the European Economic Area and is intended to support competent authorities’ assessment of the internal approaches used to calculate risk-weighted exposure amounts. Data will be collected using established procedures and formats from regular supervisory reporting. Conducted under Article 78 of the Capital Requirements Directive, the annual benchmarking exercise provides benchmarks and peer comparisons to support supervisors’ review of internal models and promote convergence in supervisory practices.
