The Argentina Securities Commission reported that its president, Roberto E. Silva, spoke at the IOSCO/PIFS-HLS Global Certificate Program for securities market regulators hosted at Harvard Law School, covering capital markets development in emerging economies and regulatory approaches to digital assets and stablecoins. His remarks included an overview of Argentina’s new regulatory framework for Virtual Asset Service Providers. Silva participated in a panel on “Capital markets development: opportunities and challenges in emerging and growing markets” and a separate panel on “The role and regulation of digital assets and stablecoins,” alongside representatives from regulators and industry. The programme also addressed topics including regional integration and cross-border coordination, risk-based supervision, and institutional strengthening, with participation from IOSCO representatives, Harvard Law School and PIFS faculty, and executives from firms including Bloomberg, Circle, Coinbase and Deloitte.
