The European Financial Reporting Advisory Group has published the programme for its 2026 annual conference, “25 Years of EFRAG: Leading the Next Era of Corporate Reporting”, to be held on 8 June in Brussels. The agenda centres on EFRAG’s evolution over 25 years and on the future direction of corporate reporting in Europe, with a particular focus on how financial and sustainability reporting interact and on the next phase of sustainability reporting after the first two European Sustainability Reporting Standards reporting cycles. The opening panel will review EFRAG’s development since 2001 from an IFRS endorsement advisory body to a European voice in corporate reporting, followed by a fireside chat featuring Wolf Klinz, Chair of the EFRAG Financial Reporting Board, and Kerstin Lopatta, Chair of the EFRAG Sustainability Reporting Board. Afternoon panels will cover connectivity in corporate reporting, including materiality, anticipated financial effects, reporting boundaries, technology and stakeholder implications, and will also examine sustainability reporting challenges and opportunities after the initial two ESRS reporting cycles, the simplification of ESRS and the potential role of Non-European Sustainability Reporting Standards. The conference will close with a keynote by European Commissioner Maria Luís Albuquerque and remarks from Benoît Jaspar, President of the EFRAG Administrative Board. In-person participation is limited and subject to confirmation, with Friends of EFRAG given priority.
