Members of the UK Parliament’s House of Lords held a general debate on the Autumn Budget 2025 on 4 December, following the Budget statement delivered by Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves MP in the House of Commons on 26 November. Lord Livermore, Financial Secretary to the Treasury, opened the debate and responded on behalf of the government. Peers from across parties contributed, including Baroness Bowles of Berkhamsted, Lord Eatwell and Lord Macpherson of Earl’s Court. Parliament has published a recording and the Lords Hansard transcript, alongside House of Lords Library background material on the issues covered and the Lords’ scrutiny role.
