Ukraine’s Ministry of Finance and Ukrgasbank and Sense Bank have signed agreements with N. M. Rothschild & Sons Limited to provide financial advice on preparing the sale of the state’s stakes in both banks. The engagement advances preparations for privatisation but does not change the banks’ ownership. Selected through a competitive process, Rothschild & Co will work in a consortium with Ukrainian investment banking company FinPoint. The adviser will coordinate due diligence, including determining the starting sale price, prepare information for potential investors, market the banks internationally and help organise the competition to sell the stakes. The agreements follow the government’s October 2025 decision to prepare the stakes for sale and the ministry’s March 2026 launch of the adviser selection process. Both banks continue to operate normally and meet their obligations to clients, including depositors. They will announce further steps in preparing for privatisation on their official websites.
