Egmont Group Chair Elzbieta Frankow-Jaskiewicz emphasized timely, trusted international cooperation in a keynote at the Global Coalition to Fight Financial Crime Annual Summit. The central message was that financial intelligence units (FIUs) need to exchange the right information with the right partners at the right time, rather than simply increase the volume of information shared. Criminal networks span jurisdictions, while individual FIUs hold only parts of the intelligence needed to understand their activities. Secure, effective information exchange can connect those fragments to reveal networks, trace assets and support coordinated action. The keynote also explored how joint analysis, innovative data matching, advanced analytics and artificial intelligence can turn shared information into operational outcomes. The emphasis builds on themes addressed at the 2025 summit, where the Egmont Group highlighted investment in secure IT systems and training, alongside the need to modernize international information sharing.
