Mexico’s National Commission for the Protection and Defense of Financial Services Users (CONDUSEF) issued a warning about suspected impersonation of two institutions within Kapital México Grupo Financiero. The group reported unauthorized use of the names, logos and some tax or administrative details of KPTL México Bank and Kapital México Casa de Bolsa. Unidentified individuals are promoting the “KapitalMex” application and an “In-Person Investors Meeting 2026,” purportedly scheduled for Nov. 21, 2026, in Mexico City, using the Kapital México Casa de Bolsa name. The brokerage is not organizing the event. None of the group’s institutions organizes events through WhatsApp groups requesting application downloads. Consumers should treat offers made through unofficial channels with caution and verify institutions and their contact details in CONDUSEF’s Registry of Financial Services Providers (SIPRES). They should confirm offers directly through registered official channels, avoid transfers to personal accounts or payments before signing a formal contract, and be wary of advance fees to release, process or activate loans or investments.
