The Asia/Pacific Group on Money Laundering (APG) supported a criminal asset confiscation, investigation and litigation workshop in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, from 20-23 October 2026. The workshop brought together investigators, prosecutors and other practitioners, with funding from the APG’s Pacific capacity development program for combating money laundering and terrorist financing. Practical exercises, case studies and group discussions addressed challenges in investigating illicit wealth, managing restrained assets and pursuing confiscation outcomes. Participants examined money laundering offences, restraining and freezing orders, and criminal asset litigation. Sessions also covered international cooperation in pursuing assets across borders, while criminal asset litigation specialists from the Australian Federal Police contributed to the workshop’s delivery.
