Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission has issued regulations requiring phased sustainability disclosures aligned with International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) standards, finalizing the approach outlined in its revised principles of November 2025. The requirements apply International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) S1 and S2. Companies included in the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) SET50 Index at the December 2026 review must disclose information for 2027 in reports published in 2028. Five transition reliefs allow initial reporting limited to climate information, exempt comparative information in the first reporting year and provide flexibility in reporting timing. They also permit equivalent greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions calculation standards and temporarily exempt Scope 3 GHG emissions disclosures. GHG emissions information must be verified by assurance providers using internationally accepted assurance standards. Companies in the SET100 Index at the December 2027 review must report 2028 information in 2029. Coverage expands to all SET-listed companies for 2029 information, reported in 2030. Companies on the Market for Alternative Investment, real estate investment trusts, infrastructure funds, infrastructure trusts and property funds follow for 2030 information, reported in 2031. The latter two phases also cover initial public offerings.
