The Central Bank of Montenegro reviewed implementation of the WE Finance Code action plan at a meeting of the national coalition it leads. Dashboard data for 2025 showed that the number of micro, small and medium-sized enterprise clients owned by women increased by 3.2%, while the value of their loan portfolio grew by approximately 16%. The review assessed progress within the initiative’s existing national framework linking data, policy and practical measures to improve women entrepreneurs’ access to finance. Of the coalition’s recorded commitments, 87% are publicly available, while more than half have been completed or are being implemented. Upcoming activities will focus on improving the availability and quality of data on access to finance to inform support measures. Findings from the second cycle of the “Women in Business” survey also provided a basis for refining support to address women entrepreneurs’ business needs.
