The Central Bank of Ecuador has reported that its academic journal, Economic Issues, received approval for inclusion in the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), an international network of open access scientific libraries. The addition brings the journal’s presence across academic indexing and dissemination platforms to nine, expanding the international visibility of its economic research. Approval followed an evaluation of the journal’s content, academic rigor and editorial practices. Established in 1979, the journal publishes original research on economics, central banking and economic policy, with issues released in June and December. The bank is inviting original research submissions from contributors in Ecuador and abroad that support economic analysis and technical debate on public policy.
