The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has secured High Court undertakings through a settlement with Huobi Global S.A. to prevent HTX, formerly Huobi, from knowingly promoting cryptoasset services unlawfully to UK consumers. The undertakings cover direct and indirect financial promotions that breach section 21 of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, including through HTX’s website, applications and social media. The settlement does not constitute an admission of liability or wrongdoing. HTX took steps to exit the UK after the FCA began legal proceedings in October 2025 over breaches of financial promotion rules. The exchange is no longer active in the UK and will not target, solicit or actively seek to engage UK consumers. Consumers can no longer make deposits, and new UK users cannot register on the platform. Existing UK users should consult HTX’s published information on service availability and arrangements for withdrawing residual assets.
