In a Radio NV interview with Serhii Fursa, Oleksii Semeniuk, chair of Ukraine's National Securities and Stock Market Commission, reviewed plans to broaden investment beyond domestic government bonds, including through proposed personal investment accounts. The accounts would allow investors to build securities portfolios and accumulate capital. This continues the commission's work to diversify a market in which government bonds account for about 80% of annual turnover. Semeniuk also discussed the need for a legal framework for virtual assets and international investment in exchange infrastructure, alongside alignment with European Union rules. Investor asset protection and conditions for public offerings by Ukrainian companies were further areas of discussion. Looking beyond the regulatory changes of 2026, he identified 2027 as the year for delivering results, to be assessed through indicators including retail investor numbers and public securities issuance volumes.
