The Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority has set annual increases of 0.67% or 5% for specified annuities compensating permanent income loss caused by injury, applicable from Jan. 1, 2027. The 0.67% adjustment reflects the increase in Sweden’s price base amount to SEK 59,600 for 2027. Under the annual indexation framework, the applicable rate depends on the annuity type, when the injury occurred and when the annuity was determined. For events before 1974, traffic accident annuities and injury annuities paid from state funds rise by 0.67%. Other liability annuities for those events increase by 5% if determined before Jan. 1, 2004, and by 0.67% if determined from that date onward. For events from 1974 onward, damages annuities, including traffic accident compensation, increase by 5% if determined before 2004, or by 0.67% if determined during 2004-2026. The 5% adjustments follow older rules that require accumulated increases in the price base amount to reach at least 5% before an adjustment is made.
