The Brazil Securities Commission (CVM) has scheduled its second Tokenization Working Group market meeting for Nov. 6 in São Paulo to examine proposed tokenization tests and potential regulatory changes. The event follows October’s establishment of the CVM’s distributed ledger technology (DLT) pilot, which provides for experimental securities operations from issuance through settlement. Presentations will cover models and use cases to be submitted to or tested under the pilot, explaining how their technology and operating processes differ from current arrangements. Discussions will address infrastructure and supervisory challenges, including cybersecurity and interoperability. Participants will assess what the existing framework can accommodate and where changes to legislation, regulation or self-regulation may be needed. Pilot experience will inform the working group’s subsequent work and future discussions on a definitive regime for tokenized securities.
