In an interview on the Nicaraguan National Assembly’s parliamentary television channel, Central Bank of Nicaragua President Ovidio Reyes Ramírez discussed projections for coffee production of about 3 million quintals and an average price of USD 294 per quintal for the 2026-2027 season. He also reiterated that the córdoba’s exchange rate against the U.S. dollar would remain stable during 2027. Coffee exports reached a record USD 918 million in 2025, supported by increased production and international prices averaging USD 270 per quintal. Export receipts totaled USD 691 million through September 2026. Reyes attributed lower production costs and improved competitiveness to improvements in road and electricity infrastructure, access to basic services and technical training, and government support.
