The Central Bank of Brazil has extended the application deadline to November 13, 2026, for three positions in its Postgraduate Research Internship Program, run by the Department of Studies and Research. The openings cover public policy evaluation, including Open Finance and Pix, alongside research on financial education and inclusion, banking, credit and consumer behavior in financial services. Applicants must be at least in the second semester of a master’s or doctoral program in an eligible discipline, have programming or statistical software proficiency, and demonstrate strong English reading and writing skills and academic performance. Selection will prioritize candidates whose dissertation or thesis projects align with the central bank’s research agenda. Applicants already registered for the selection process for the second half of 2026 remain eligible and should not apply again. The internships require 30 hours a week and offer a stipend of BRL 2,231.39 plus transport assistance. Placements initially last six months and may be renewed up to a total of 24 months. Work may be remote or in person, depending on project needs, but some database work requires attendance at an office. The available locations are Brasília, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
