Norges Bank has published 2027 prices for its settlement system (NBO), increasing account and settlement charges by about 3% from 2026 while leaving fees for breaches of account terms unchanged. The increase mainly reflects general price and wage growth and higher licensing and operating expenses. Prices are set to cover two-thirds of the costs of implementing, developing and operating the system. Monthly charges will be NOK 798,000 for Group A1 banks, which participate directly in Continuous Linked Settlement (CLS) or have an agreement to use the Scandinavian Cash Pool. Other Group A banks, which participate directly in Norwegian Interbank Clearing System settlement, will pay NOK 298,000. Group B banks, comprising other banks with ordinary NBO accounts, will pay NOK 37,000 monthly. That rate also applies to central counterparties, central banks and CLS Bank. Direct participation in the cash leg of securities settlement will carry an additional monthly charge of NOK 223,000. The annual charge for a contingency account agreement will be NOK 15,000, while the connection charge for banks will be NOK 60,000.
