Norges Bank announced that it will make net foreign currency purchases equivalent to NOK 176 million per day in November 2026. Daily purchases of NOK 300 million on behalf of the government will be partly offset by foreign currency sales of NOK 124 million to finance dividend and interest transfers to the government. The government transactions relate to the use of petroleum revenues in the state budget and savings in the Government Pension Fund Global. Separately, the foreign currency sales implement a December 2025 decision to buy kroner to finance dividend and interest transfers for the 2025 financial year. Those transfers total NOK 29.4 billion, with the associated krone purchases spread evenly across eligible trading days from March 2026 through February 2027.
