The Egmont Group is working with the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) on a questionnaire for financial intelligence units (FIUs) across its global membership to inform FATF’s ongoing work on fraud. The initiative will bring FIUs’ operational experience into that work, following the group’s contribution to recent FATF Plenary discussions on fraud and scam compounds. Priorities for tackling fraud-related illicit financial flows include strong financial intelligence, rapid information exchange and effective international cooperation, alongside sustained asset tracing, freezing and recovery. The engagement continues earlier cooperation on fraud, including the Egmont Group’s support in February 2026 for additional FATF work on the proceeds of cyber-enabled fraud.
