The Central Bank of Barbados will begin a community roadshow on November 4 to help small and micro businesses register for and activate BiMPay, Barbados’ national instant payment system. The initiative targets village shops, minimarts and other small businesses as part of ongoing efforts to increase adoption of the system. The outreach team will assist business owners with registration and explain how BiMPay can support payment collection and reduce cash handling. The system enables users to send and receive payments 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Participating businesses that meet the competition’s eligibility requirements will have the opportunity to win one of five interim prizes of BBD 500, as well as a grand prize of BBD 6,000.
