The Central Bank of Montenegro jointly organized RoboFin 2026 with the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation and the Innovation Fund of Montenegro, bringing more than 280 primary school pupils to Podgorica. The second national robotics competition combined robot building and programming with practical tasks involving saving, planning and responsible money management, marking Savings Week and World Savings Day. For the first time, the competition divided pupils into two age categories, with 24 teams from the first and second years of primary school and 48 teams from the third and fourth years. All 42 participating schools received educational robotics kits to support practical teaching and the development of robotics and programming skills. The competition forms part of the national Robotics for Young Children programme, which began as a pilot in four Podgorica schools in 2022. With continued central bank support, the programme now covers more than 160 primary schools across Montenegro, combining robotics and programming education with financial literacy.
