Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is consulting on draft rules requiring asset managers to consolidate key information about their organizations into a single annual report. The reports would bring together existing disclosures and other relevant information, helping investors compare providers’ operations, governance and stewardship of investors’ interests. The draft follows consultation on the proposed principles during June–July 2026. The requirements would cover asset management companies managing mutual, private or provident funds, as well as securities companies primarily undertaking private fund management. Reports would provide an overview of business and financial performance, risk management, corporate governance and stewardship. The materiality of information and the nature, size and complexity of each business would determine the appropriate level of detail. The proposal retains implementation from the 2028 accounting period, with first publication in 2029. Reports would have to be published on the company’s website or another channel readily accessible to investors and submitted to the SEC within four months of the accounting period’s end. For the first year, companies would have six months to publish, allowing time to prepare data, systems, internal review processes and personnel.
