Kazakhstan’s Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market has explained requirements for insurers and insurance agents to disclose agents’ commissions in advance to customers buying voluntary insurance. The rules, adopted on Oct. 30, 2026, require disclosure during customer consultations and the preparation of insurance documents. Compulsory insurance is outside their scope because agents are not permitted to sell those products. Commission amounts must also appear in the insurance contract and, where issued, the policy, both in KZT and as a percentage of the premium. Previously, policies only indicated that remuneration was payable without specifying the amount. The disclosure is intended to help customers compare offers and reduce the risk of agents recommending insurance based on their own financial interests rather than customers’ needs.
