The Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) has launched a consultation on proposed revisions to requirements for interest rate risks in the banking book. The changes would incorporate recalibrated interest rate shocks and give greater consideration to how interest rate risks affect banks’ revenues. The partial revision of Circular 2019/2 would implement the shocks recalibrated by the Basel Committee in July 2024 and findings from FINMA’s ex post evaluation published on 26 November 2025. It reflects updated supervisory practice concerning banks’ measurement, management, monitoring and control of interest rate risks in the banking book.
