The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) and the European Central Bank (ECB) have signed a cooperation agreement to prevent euro banknote counterfeiting through exchanges of information, technical data and expertise. The framework will connect information on counterfeits detected in Bosnia and Herzegovina with broader monitoring and analysis. The ECB will provide technical information on known classes of counterfeit euro banknotes, including features that support identification, classification and monitoring. In return, the CBBH will report all counterfeit euro banknotes detected in Bosnia and Herzegovina and, when needed, provide digital images or physical samples for expert analysis and classification.
