Argentina’s Ministry of Finance outlined tax relief and automotive financing measures announced by Economy Minister Luis Caputo at the Argentine Industrial Union’s 32nd Industrial Conference. The measures suspend asset seizures by the Revenue and Customs Control Agency (ARCA) until May 2027 and allow companies to use balances arising from exports to settle customs debts. Small and medium-sized enterprises will be able to use 100% of their export rebate or export value added tax credit balances to pay customs debts. A percentage limit will apply to large companies. ARCA’s 18-installment debt repayment plan was also extended from June 30 to Oct. 31. Banco Nación will provide automotive sector loans at fixed rates of around 20%, with terms of three, four or five years. Caputo also plans to propose eliminating stamp duty in the provinces and the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. Provinces participating in the RIGI and REOR regimes would be offered government payments equivalent to half the tax in exchange for forgoing the other half.
