The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and the National University of Singapore (NUS) have jointly appointed Professor Davin Chor as the 26th MAS Term Professor in Economics and Finance from 5 to 11 November 2026. His visit will include discussions with policymakers and academics on international trade, global supply chains and the impact of globalisation. He will be hosted by NUS’s Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy and MAS’s Economic Policy Group. Chor, the Michael G. Fisch 1983 Professor and Globalisation Chair at Dartmouth College’s Tuck School of Business, researches international trade and political economy. His recent work examines the economic and political effects of tariffs between the United States and China and shifts in US supply chain trade. At a public lecture at NUS on 6 November 2026, he will discuss China’s increasing reliance on exports as a growth engine and why that strategy may ultimately be unsustainable. He will also present research to NUS faculty and engage senior policymakers and economists at MAS.
