Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has filed a criminal complaint with the Economic Crime Suppression Division against BG Limited, operator of the Bitget digital asset exchange, and an individual alleged to have supported its unlicensed business. Access to the platform will be blocked from 5 December 2026 following the SEC’s notification to the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society. The complaint concerns Bitget’s activities during 2022-2025, when it provided digital asset trading services, charged fees and targeted Thai users through a website in Thai, displays of equivalent values in Thai baht and promotions in Thai. The alleged conduct constitutes operating a digital asset exchange without a license under the Emergency Decree on Digital Asset Businesses of 2018. Kritsana Kritsananuwat allegedly assisted the business by publicizing its services and sales promotions through Facebook and YouTube. The access block covers Bitget’s main website, other domains and its application. Investors using the platform were urged to consider taking action regarding assets held there before 5 December 2026 to avoid potential impacts from losing access.
