Angola’s Capital Markets Commission (CMC) held a workshop on Nov. 3, 2026, examining the implications of the country’s beneficial ownership law for the securities market. The discussion focused on mandatory identification and transparency of beneficial ownership, alongside a central register to support supervision and the traceability of corporate ownership structures. Law No. 7/26 establishes a standalone legal framework for beneficial ownership, covering legal persons and other entities within its scope. It also creates a central beneficial ownership register. The workshop formed part of the plan to implement Financial Action Task Force recommendations, supporting efforts to combat money laundering, terrorist financing and the financing of proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
