The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) fully met four banks’ demand for foreign currency cash through preventive transactions exchanging their noncash foreign currency for cash. Applications totaled USD 40 million and EUR 21.4 million, against offered volumes of USD 50 million and EUR 50 million. Demand remained moderate, indicating sufficient foreign currency cash stocks in the financial system. Across the operations on 3–4 November 2026, the amount offered was more than three times banks’ actual demand. Despite the absence of systemic shortages of foreign currency cash in banks, the NBU plans further exchanges on 5 November as a precaution to maintain sufficient cash availability. These transactions replenish banks’ cash holdings without affecting Ukraine’s international reserves.
