Bolivia's Ministry of Economy and Public Finance reported that funds managed by the public pension administrator recorded an annual nominal return of 9.4% and a real return of 3.5% as of September 2026. Returns exceeded inflation, while pension assets under management surpassed BOB 223 billion. The nominal return increased from 4% when the administrator took over management in May 2023. The real return recovered from negative 15.35% in September 2025, indicating that investment returns now exceeded price increases. Assets under management were 35.4% higher than the nearly BOB 165 billion previously managed jointly by the two former pension fund administrators. Growth reflected increased contribution collections from new members, alongside investment and reinvestment gains. According to the public pension administrator, controls allow workers and employers to verify contribution movements through pension savings statements. Internal and external audits reported no missing funds, accounting discrepancies or unrecorded contributions.
