Thailand's Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has revoked Rungratchanee Chodprom's approval as an Investment Consultant for Complex Products Type 2 after finding that she misappropriated THB 53,575,843.56 from 13 clients. Applications from her for approval to serve as capital market business personnel will not be accepted for 10 years from Nov. 6, 2026. The misconduct occurred between February 2012 and March 2025 while Chodprom worked at Krung Thai Bank Public Company Limited (KTB). She used client documents to open fund accounts and obtain ATM cards without clients' knowledge or consent, purchased funds contrary to their wishes and secretly sold fund units. She withdrew client money for personal benefit or transferred it between accounts to make clients believe their investments remained intact. Chodprom also falsified transaction and withdrawal records and altered or destroyed bank documents to conceal the misconduct. KTB has fully reimbursed the affected clients.
