Bulgaria’s Financial Supervision Commission (FSC) has warned of potential investment fraud involving Bulgarian citizens using the name and corporate identity of ArthaScope Kapitalforvaltning A/S, a licensed Danish asset management company. The warning follows a notification from the Danish supervisory authority. Individuals have organised meetings with potential investors to promote fictitious investment opportunities and created a cloned website purporting to represent the company. ArthaScope Kapitalforvaltning A/S denies any presence or business activities in Bulgaria, any connection to the individuals or cloned website, and any authorisation for investment services or meetings on its behalf there. Investors should disregard information provided at these meetings and discontinue contact with the purported representatives. They can check firms’ legitimacy and regulatory authorisation through the FSC website and the European Securities and Markets Authority’s databases and registers. Suspected misconduct or criminal activity should be reported to the Ministry of Interior and the FSC.
