The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) will host the 28th Sir Arthur Lewis Memorial Lecture on November 11, 2026, at its headquarters in St. Kitts and Nevis. The lecture will address competition, regulation and the cost of living against a backdrop of affordability concerns for households and businesses across the Caribbean and globally. Andrew S. Downes, professor emeritus of economics at the University of the West Indies and former chairman of the CARICOM Competition Commission, will deliver the lecture. A subsequent panel discussion will feature Downes and Carissa Rodulfo, an attorney and doctoral candidate in competition law at the University of Cambridge. Rodulfo’s research examines how competition laws can be adapted to small island developing states, particularly in the Caribbean. ECCB Research, Statistics and Data Analytics Department Director Dalano DaSouza will moderate the discussion.
