The Central Bank of Uruguay hosted students from Woodlands School and Amelia Varietti High School No. 7 in Paysandú for financial education workshops and a visit to its Numismatic Museum. The sessions formed part of the bank’s existing BCUEduca economic and financial education program, using participatory activities linked to everyday situations. Three workshops examined how inflation affects economic decisions, how the financial system operates, and how savings and investment choices relate to objectives and risks. They also explained the central bank’s responsibilities for price stability and banking regulation and supervision. The museum visit complemented these topics by exploring the evolution of money through Uruguay’s economic, historical and social context.
