The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA) has joined insurance consultancy ARIS in a Mount Kilimanjaro expedition to raise awareness of insurance and encourage its use in Tanzania. The group of 22 participants from the two organizations began the climb through Machame Gate on Nov. 6, 2026. The expedition forms part of celebrations leading up to ARIS’s 30th anniversary of providing insurance services. Speaking at the farewell ceremony, Tanzania’s Commissioner of Insurance, Dr. Baghayo Saqware, highlighted the climb as an opportunity to expand insurance education and promote the country’s tourism attractions.
