The Kuwait Capital Markets Authority hosted and chaired the thirty-first meeting of the GCC Committee of Heads of Capital Markets Authorities, held via video conference, focusing on initiatives intended to deepen financial-market integration and align regulatory and supervisory approaches across Gulf markets. Discussions covered measures to encourage dual listings and expand the trading of bonds and sukuk across GCC financial markets, alongside a project to electronically link depository and clearing institutions. The committee also reviewed progress on joint investor awareness programmes, follow-up on the Gulf Smart Investor Award in its fourth season, developments in an initiative to unify the investor number and its proposed implementation mechanism, and broader initiatives to enhance supervision and legislative and supervisory integration. Participants underscored continued coordination to accelerate delivery of joint projects under the unified strategy for the integration of financial markets.
