The Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) set out its next Quarterly Release cycle, with a Quarterly Release Announcement Day on 20 February 2025 and a follow-on Quarterly Release Industry Day on 6 March 2025. Based on stakeholder feedback from the pilot, OSFI will prioritize Industry Day and discontinue the stakeholder briefing on announcement day. The 20 February release is set to include a public consultation on draft revisions to the Capital Adequacy Requirements (CAR) Guideline, final banking and insurance guidelines on the capital and liquidity treatment of crypto-asset exposures, final Pillar 3 disclosure guidelines on crypto-asset exposures, and a letter on updates to Guideline B-15 on climate risk management. The 6 March virtual Industry Day is designed to provide additional detail and Q&A on the release items, and also includes sessions on OSFI approvals and on compliance with financial institutions statutes and OSFI’s use of administrative monetary penalties. OSFI is considering further adjustments to its release processes, format, and cadence, with additional details expected in its Annual Risk Outlook due in April.
