The Central Bank of Cyprus has published its June 2026 deposit and lending statistics, showing faster monthly growth in both deposits and loans. Total deposits recorded a net increase of EUR 601.2 million, up from EUR 343.8 million in May, while total loans posted a net increase of EUR 499.4 million, compared with EUR 260.3 million a month earlier. The annual growth rate of deposits edged down to 5.0% from 5.1%, while the annual growth rate of loans slowed to 11.6% from 12.6%. Outstanding deposits reached EUR 58.7 billion and outstanding loans reached EUR 28.6 billion. Deposits by Cyprus residents increased by EUR 626.2 million, including rises of EUR 49.7 million for households and EUR 480.3 million for non-financial corporations, while other domestic sectors increased by EUR 96.2 million. Loans to Cyprus residents rose by EUR 213.7 million, with households up EUR 131.4 million and non-financial corporations up EUR 90.1 million, partly offset by a EUR 7.8 million decline in lending to other domestic sectors. The net changes are measured on a transactions basis and exclude reclassifications, foreign exchange movements and other revaluations.
