Dubai International Financial Centre published a release welcoming Manulife’s establishment of a new office in DIFC, expanding its Global High-Net-Worth business in the region. The firm is positioned as the first international high-net-worth insurer in DIFC holding a Category 4 licence that enables it to advise on and arrange life insurance contracts. The DIFC office is intended to serve high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients across the Middle East and act as a hub connecting Manulife with wealth managers and family offices. DIFC also reported that, at end-2024, it had 125 insurance and reinsurance-related companies among its clients, spanning insurers, reinsurers, brokers, captives, managing general agents, Lloyd’s service companies and cover holders, and related professional services firms.
