Mexico's National Commission for the Protection and Defense of Financial Services Users reported that it handled 3,528 complaints in Oaxaca from January through July 2026, up 3.5% from the previous year and equal to 2.2% of complaints nationwide. Completed cases recovered MXN 18.5 million for users, while 48.1% of complaints produced a user-favorable outcome. Multiple banking accounted for 57.6% of complaints, followed by insurers at 15.1% and credit information companies at 11.1%. Credit cards, debit cards and personal loans were linked to 60.6% of cases, while 29.5% of all complaints involved possible fraud through unrecognized transactions or account charges. Electronic case management was used for 74.2% of complaints, with conciliation accounting for 10.5%.
