Payments Canada has published an overview of a panel discussion on how embedded payments, credit and savings products are reshaping Canada’s financial sector and shifting control of customer relationships from banks toward retailers, technology platforms and service providers. The panel will examine the infrastructure supporting embedded finance, the regulatory implications of financial services delivered through non-bank apps and the economics of partnerships among fintechs, sponsor banks and payment platforms. Participants will also consider whether banks, consumer brands or apps will control the future delivery of financial services.
