The International Banking Federation (IBFed) has joined the Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA) as a Foundation Member, formally bringing the global banking community into GASA’s cross-sector work to counter online scams and fraud affecting consumers. Under the Foundation Member arrangement, IBFed will act as a strategic partner by contributing to GASA’s intelligence-sharing initiatives, participating in its Advisory Board, and collaborating on research and other information-sharing activities. IBFed framed the move as a way to ensure the voice of the banking sector is reflected in joint solutions, including an “ecosystem approach” that allocates responsibility, accountability, and liability across the fraud chain, while GASA highlighted the engagement of a collective banking voice representing 18,000 banks to support faster intelligence sharing and more coordinated disruption of scam networks.
