The Cyprus Ministry of Finance has formalized the appointments of George Karatzias as chairman and Loukas Lagoudis as vice chairman of the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission through the signing of their contracts. Both appointments have been effective since Sept. 15, 2026. CySEC is Cyprus’ independent capital markets supervisor, responsible for market oversight and investor protection, and cooperates with the Ministry of Finance as required by law.
