Mexico’s National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV) published the capital adequacy index (Índice de Capitalización, ICAP) for broker-dealers (casas de bolsa) as of end-June 2025, reporting an aggregate ICAP of 32.41%. All broker-dealers in operation were classified in Early Warning Category I, reflecting compliance with the minimum capital requirement of 8% plus the 2.5% capital conservation buffer to be met with core capital, implying an ICAP above 10.5%. Category I indicates firms are considered sufficiently capitalised to absorb unexpected losses and do not require immediate supervisory actions related to solvency.
