The Central Bank of Russia published the results of its Coin Week campaign concluded in October 2025, reporting that more than 56 million coins with a face value of around RUB 245 million were returned to circulation, the best result since the first Coin Week in 2023. Across the five Coin Week events held so far, more than 215 million coins worth nearly RUB 956 million have been returned, with a total weight exceeding 962 tonnes, which the Bank compared to the annual coin volumes issued to banks by its Moscow cash centre. Some banks and retailers continue to accept coins for exchange into banknotes or crediting to an account after Coin Week ends, with participant locations and acceptance terms published on the Bank’s website.
