The National Bank of Moldova published statistics on banks’ cash operations for January–October 2025, showing that cumulative cash withdrawals exceeded cumulative cash receipts by MDL 4,210.9 million. Both receipts and withdrawals increased compared with the same period of the prior year. Cumulative cash receipts totalled MDL 152,594.6 million, up MDL 8,082.8 million (5.6%), while cumulative cash withdrawals reached MDL 156,805.5 million, up MDL 7,673.5 million (5.1%). Receipts were driven mainly by consumer goods sales (MDL 89,215.5 million, 58.5% of the total, up 4.7%), cash paid into individuals’ current and deposit accounts (MDL 15,237.1 million, up 17.3%), and “other receipts” (MDL 20,956.3 million, up 7.1%) as defined in the cash operations reporting instruction; the totals include transactions in commemorative coins.
