The Argentina Securities Commission (CNV) reported on its participation in the First International Congress on Web3 Law and Technology Applied to Business, where CNV President Roberto E. Silva spoke on a panel on capital markets regulation and outlined the CNV’s regulatory work on Virtual Asset Service Providers (PSAVs). In his remarks, Silva said Argentina had no regulation for virtual assets at the start of the current administration and that, following the enactment of Law No. 27.739 in March 2024, the CNV became the regulator of PSAVs and worked at speed on an “innovative” regulatory approach, also touching briefly on tokenization. The panel brought together supervisors from Spain, Uruguay, El Salvador and Bolivia, and a second-day session on “legal vehicles for tokenization” included a presentation by CNV professional Rodríguez Ariola.
