The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA) has joined the International Women’s Day service and product exhibition in Arusha to provide insurance education to women participants and the wider public, respond to insurance-related questions, and receive and log complaints for follow-up. The exhibition runs from 1–8 March 2025 at the Sheikh Amri Abeid grounds ahead of the national International Women’s Day event on 8 March. TIRA’s engagement has focused on public education and addressing practical issues raised by attendees, including pathways to participate in the insurance market such as becoming an insurance agent and the relevant criteria and guidelines. The authority also promoted the role of insurance in protecting assets, health and investments, encouraging take-up of cover such as home, motor, health, agriculture and livestock, business and life insurance, and guided stakeholders on procedures for pursuing insurance compensation claims while recording cases for further regulatory follow-up.
